Our mission is to coordinate interaction with the organized labor community, and employers to foster good career civilian jobs for United States Armed Forces veterans.

We believe that as our veterans unselfishly volunteered to serve their country, we have undertaken an obligation to serve them in transitioning to civilian life.

Joint Council 42 and Helmets to Hardhats is working with our returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan in assisting them with valuable resources on their return into the civilian sector. Thank you for your service and thank you again for assisting us in our goal to fight for those who fought for us.

As part of the Teamsters’ JC42 Helmets to Hardhats program we are extending a helping hand to our veteran Teamsters, and your diligence allows us that opportunity. The response has been outstanding and we are proud to be associated with so many individuals who served this great country. It is an honor and a privilege to have you as a member, or a retiree, of Joint Council 42.

It has come to our attention that many veterans who have served are not fully aware of the resources available for claim benefits as well as extended benefits that were affiliated with the service you provided in the Armed Forces. This year we will educate and provide assistance to those that have never filed for benefits as well as those that have already filed claims.

In the future, updates and extended information will also be available in the Southern California Teamster newspaper, and on this website……

We look forward to working with you in obtaining any and all benefits due you to you for your honorable service.
